Photography is all about understanding light. If you are a photographer, you know how tricky sometimes light gets. Many factors affect and shape photography, so knowing those factors is really important.
While warmer lights have a color temperature of around 2000 kelvin, color temperatures of blue and white are over 7000 kelvin.
Candles, sunsets, and tungsten bulbs have a reddish hue to them (which is 'warm' in appearance ), whereas clear blue skies render a 'cool' blue light.
Color temperatures rendered by AWB(auto white balance) is within the range of 3200 kelvin-7000 kelvin. 3200 kelvin means the light rendered by tungsten and 7000 kelvin is that of overcast sky.
Auto white balance covers a general range, but they still lack the range just above and below the AWB range. The range missing is 1000 kelvin to 3200 kelvin and 7000 kelvin to 10000 kelvin.
- Color temperature at Sunrise or sunset range from 1000 kelvin to 2000 kelvin,
- Photoflood lights range from 2000 kelvin to 3000 kelvin
- To simulate every other color temperature range, different lights are available
To simulate all the features of LEDs, one needs all different sources of lights.
There are the following advantages LED lights have over many other lights.
-
Perfect light intensity for photography
The exposure of control of LED lights is far better than speed lights and strobes, though they are not an ideal replacement to these lights. With LED bulbs, you do not need to take many shots to know exactly how the shot will look like.
With LED lights, you can reduce the dependence of flash.
-
More Color And No More Red Eyes
LED lights reduce the need for flash. No flash used implies no chance of red eyes. Since the LED lighting is continuous, it means that the pupil of the models will not suffer any strain. No dilation means no false colors shown.
-
Ability To Adjust Color Temperature
For different color temperatures, one needs different bulbs with different color temperatures for respective light needs. There are many options available in LED devices that cover multiple color temperatures. With some options, you can adjust the color temperatures from 3200K and 5500K.
There are still some color temperatures that these lights do not cover, but still, they are a really good choice.

Suitable For Video As Well As Stills
LED lights render a continuous light, which makes them the perfect choice for indoor photography. For the same reason, these lights are also a perfect choice for videography as well.
